General Conference Information

Emergency Medicine Today (EM Today) is one of the most widely recognized EMS educational conferences in the country, offering its attendees the opportunity to hear presentations from outstanding faculty from across North Carolina and the United States. The conference offers continuing education credit for topics of general interest and current advancements in the fields of pre-hospital emergency care, emergency and trauma medicine and public health. The conference audience includes basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) personnel, emergency medical dispatchers (EMD), EMS professionals, EMS administrators, EMS educators, emergency medicine/trauma physicians/nurses, public health professionals, emergency managers, State Medical Assistance Team (SMAT) personnel, disaster planning coordinators, medical facility administrators, law enforcement officials, search and rescue responders, preparedness officials and others who play an important role in critical incidents.

General Information
The North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services (NC OEMS) is pleased to announce the 2018 "Call for Presentations" for the 45th annual educational conference, Emergency Medicine Today, to be held in Greensboro, North Carolina, September 28th - October 3rd, 2018.

This conference will offer its attendees the opportunity to hear presentations from outstanding faculty from across North Carolina and the United States. The conference offers continuing education credit for topics of general interest and current advancements in the fields of pre-hospital emergency care, emergency and trauma medicine, public health and disaster medical preparedness. We are also pleased to announce the continued expansion of topics to include research abstracts related to emergency medical services and disaster medical preparedness.

The conference audience includes emergency medical dispatchers (EMD), EMS personnel, EMS administrators, EMS educators, emergency medicine/trauma physicians, nurses, emergency managers, hospital administrators, physicians, nurses, State Medical Assistance Team personnel, public health personnel, disaster planning coordinators, medical facility administrators, law enforcement officials, fire responders, search and rescue responders, civil preparedness officials, and others who play important roles in critical incidents such as the Department of Agriculture personnel.

Presentation Content
The conference committees are actively seeking presentation proposals for:
Preā€Conference Sessions (4, 8, 16 or 24 Hour),
Keynote/General Sessions (60-75 Minutes) or
Educational Breakout Sessions (75 Minutes).

When developing your program proposal, please ensure that your presentation topic is focused, content-filled and interactive. Presentations proposals that address issues of interest across the identified target audience groups are strongly encouraged. Proposals will be reviewed and selected by members of the educational programs steering committee and all proposals will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

Submission Information
Conference faculty will receive a complimentary conference registration, single day of lodging, travel (mileage or airfare) and the North Carolina approved meal allowance for the day prior or the day of the presentation. No honorariums will be issued to conference faculty.

Please note: If there are multiple faculty for a session or pre-conference, a primary presenter must be designated. Only the primary presenter will be eligible for the full benefits described above. Additional presenters will receive a complimentary conference registration.
