Manual: Aged, Blind, and Disabled Medicaid
Change No: 04-04
To: County Directors of Social Services
Effective: September 1, 2003
Geneva Ray, a Johnston County Medicaid Supervisor, alerted the division to the discrepancy in the Aged, Blind and Disabled Medicaid Manual Sections MA-1100, SSI Medicaid-County DSS Responsibility, and MA-2395, Corrective Actions and Responsibility for Errors. Currently, MA-1100 says to submit an override request for claims within 45 days of the 365 day time limit while MA-2395 gives 60 days for submission of an override request.
MA-1100, SSI Medicaid-County DSS Responsibility, has been revised to provide 60 days instead of 45 days to submit an override request for claims with less than 60 days remaining before the 365 day time limit expires. This would allow the section to be in accordance with MA-2395, Corrective Actions and Responsibility.
This change in policy is effective September 1, 2003.
Remove: MA-1100, SSI Medicaid-County DSS Responsibility, Pages 7-8.
Insert: MA-1100, SSI Medicaid County DSS Responsibility, Pages 7-8 Revised 09/03.
