The Minimum community spousal income allowance and shelter standard are based on the federal poverty level and are adjusted effective July 1 of each year.
MA-2270 Long Term Care Need and Budgeting has been revised to adjust the amounts for community spouse income allowance and shelter standard based on the federal poverty level increase.
The Medicaid Eligibility Chart and Financial Eligibility Fact Sheet are also revised with new standard amounts.
Effective July 1, 2013
Apply the new amounts in determining spousal income allowance and shelter standard effective on or after July 1, 2013. For months prior to July 1, 2013, use the old amount.
Apply the amounts in determining spousal income allowance and shelter standard at the first re-determination/review or change in situation effective July 1, 2013 or later.
