DATE: MAY 5, 2004
Manual: Aged, Blind, and Disabled Medicaid
Change No: 18-04
To: County Directors of Social Services
Effective: June 1, 2004
MA-2220, State Residence, has been changed to say the Division of Medical Assistance determines when needed medical services or necessary supplementary resources are provided out-of-state to North Carolina Medicaid recipients. Previously, the manual indicated that prior approval was based on the attending physician’s medical advice. The physician’s advice is considered, but is not the determining factor.
This policy is effective June 1, 2004.
