REVISED 03/01/14-CHANGE NO. 01-14
Categorically Needy - No Money Payment is a Medicaid classification for aged, blind, and disabled individuals who do not receive SSI, but whose resources are below the categorically needy levels and whose income is below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). This section defines the general requirements to determine eligibility as categorically needy for non-SSI recipients. (For working disabled or blind individuals, see MA 2180, Health Coverage for Workers with Disabilities.)
Always evaluate aged, blind and disabled individuals as categorically needy before evaluating under medically needy criteria.
