DATE: JULY 24, 2003
Manual: Family and Children’s Medicaid
Change No: 03-04
To: County Directors of Social Services
Effective: September 1, 2003
When MA-3330, Citizen/Alien Requirements, was issued effective June 1, authorization for labor and delivery was inadvertently changed. The policy said to only authorize the day of delivery when the day of admission and the day of delivery were not consecutive. This policy has been corrected to add that for vaginal deliveries if the day of admission and the day of delivery are not consecutive, you authorize one postpartum day in addition to the day of delivery.
This policy is effective September 1, 2003. Apply this policy to applications taken on or after September 1 and to redeterminations scheduled on or after September 1. If you become aware of cases that were authorized incorrectly between June and August, authorize an additional postpartum day.
Remove MA-3330, Citizen/Alien Requirements, page 17-22.
Insert MA-3330, Citizen/Alien Requirements, page 17-22, dated 9-1-03.
