Community Spouse Resource Protection is a reserve procedure used when a married individual is institutionalized for more than 30 days and needs help with the cost of care. This procedure determines how much of the couple’s assets can be kept by the spouse at home. The community spouse resource protection amount is adjusted in January of each year.
MA-3322, Community Spouse Resource Protection is updated with the new resource protection amounts.
This change in policy is effective July 1, 2014.
