Effective: June 1, 2013
This change notice contains various Family & Children’s Medicaid Manual section additions, clarifications, corrections, deletions and/or updates. In addition, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other federal agencies use the term beneficiary instead of recipient. To match their terminology, as policy changes, recipient and A/R will be changed to beneficiary and A/B.
IV.C.3 Changed classification A to reflect the income is equal to or less than 150% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
XIII. Removed statement referencing an archived budget sheet and made changes to the sentence for clarification.
IV.D. The Family & Children policy regarding lump sum has been updated to match Adult Medicaid’s policy. The sources of lump sum payments have been added to IV.D. Lump Sums.
IV.C.5.a. & b. Clarified to exclude countable burial assets from a. and added the word revocable to b. and reworded the rest of the sentence.
I.V.D.2 Changed the wording regarding timely notices from “except for situation described in III.D.1.” to say “for situation described in IV.D.1.”
