Manual: Family and Children’s Medicaid
Change No: 09-07
To: County Directors of Social Services
Effective: June 1, 2007
To ensure consistency between MA-3240, Pregnant Woman Coverage, and MA-3415, Classification and Evaluation, MA-3240 and MA-3415 have been revised.
MA-3240 now clarifies that a pregnant woman may be classified as MAF-N or MAF-M and not MAF-C. MA-3240 deletes the policy allowing a pregnant woman, employed at the end of her post partum period, to be eligible for consideration for Twelve Months Transitional Medicaid because she could not have been eligible to be classified as MAF-C.
MA-3415 now reflects MAF “pregnant woman” under the categorically needy and the medically needy categories. MA-3415 also clarifies when buy-in is appropriate and when financial participation applies.
This policy change is effective June 1, 2007. Apply this policy to all applications taken and in process and to all redeterminations started or in process.
