XI. NOTICES & Appeals

REISSUED 11/01/11 - CHANGE NO. 15-11

(XI.A.3.d.)

4. If a debtor requests an appeal of the overpayment within the 60-day appeal period, or 90 day period with good cause (Refer to MA-3430 IV.B.3 for good cause definition),:
a. Send a request to the DMA Recipient Investigations Coordinator to have an “H” entered in the NC Debt Setoff indicator filled on the Debtor Detail screen in EPICS. This indicates there is a pending hearing, and will prevent a NC Tax Intercept until the hearing has been held, and a decision has been made.
